K1 Powers First-Ever Guns N’ Roses Live in the Caucasus with Starring Georgia

1
Starring Georgia, a leading regional concert promoter and rental provider, has taken a major step toward global standards in live sound. In May this year, the company acquired the first L-Acoustics K1 system in the Caucasus region and immediately deployed it at a large-scale event: a Guns N’ Roses concert supported by Live Nation.

The inaugural concert took place on May 30 near the village of Shekvetili, on a repurposed parking area that was transformed into a fully equipped open-air concert venue. More than 17,000 fans attended the show. Despite the rain, the audience enthusiastically welcomed the legendary rock band, while the new L-Acoustics system delivered stable performance under all weather conditions.

Full-Fidelity Sound Across 200 Meters

The main system was built around L-Acoustics K1, supported by K1-SB subwoofers and K2 for nearfield coverage. Each of the two arrays consisted of 4 K1-SB, 12 K1, and 4 K2, complemented by KS28 subwoofers. Outfills were built using K2. Additional delay towers included 12 K1 and 2 K2, ensuring consistent coverage across the nearly 200-meter-long audience area.

The amplification system was powered by LA12X amplifiers housed in LA-RAK II AVB and operated via a redundant AVB network managed by a P1 processor at front of house. LS10 switches were used for network distribution, ensuring reliable audio transmission in challenging weather conditions.

Support from Proven Experts

Technical production for the concert was overseen by Andrey Akhromeyev, an engineer with over 15 years of experience working with L-Acoustics and a certified KSE. He noted: “We experienced all kinds of weather—from sun to rain—and the K1 system performed flawlessly. The concert went smoothly despite all the challenges.”

The opening act, Rival Sons, performed using DiGiCo Quantum 338 mixing consoles at FOH and MON, with SD-Racks featuring 32-bit mic preamps.

An Investment in the Region’s Future

Starring Georgia is not just a concert agency but a full-service production company providing sound, lighting, video, staging, and etc. The acquisition of the K1 system was a logical step in their development after years of working with major international artists. In July, Justin Timberlake will perform at Dinamo Stadium in Tbilisi—marking another milestone for the live music market in the Caucasus.

“The doors to the region are now open for world-class artists. The audience is ready, and so is the infrastructure,” Starring Georgia emphasizes.
